Mission Statement
Under the visionary leadership of Her Excellency Mme. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has robustly embarked on repositioning and exerting Liberia’s global presence.
This initiative emphasizes the advancement of economic diplomacy, aligned with the Government’s ARREST Agenda (Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism), expanding mutual beneficial relations, opening new frontiers, strengthening multilateral engagements, playing a pivotal role in the maintenance and facilitation of global peace and security, alongside efforts to combat poverty and hunger, etc.
Diplomatic relations between Liberia and Morocco date back to the 1960s. Nonetheless, over the last decade, this bond has witnessed significant advancements. This progress is evidenced by the signing of several Joint Communiques, Commission of Cooperation/Agreements, Protocols, etc.
In furtherance to the deepening and cherished relations anchored on bilateral cooperation in different fields, mutual economic and development interests, and Liberia’s solidarity to the Kingdom of Morocco, on 12 March 2020, the two Foreign Ministers officially inaugurated the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia in Dakhla.
Liberia’s diplomatic presence in Dakhla, signifies its unequivocal support to the Kingdom of Morocco’s sovereignty over its territorial integrity and rights over the Sahara region.
